No matter what your age, we have a Sunday School class for you. From the young to the young at heart, First Baptist has something for everyone.
Sunday School classes begin each Sunday morning at 9:15. The classes offered are as follows:
Class Name: Children's Church
Composition of Class: Boys and Girls ages 3-First Grade
Curriculum: Lifeway
Teacher/Leader: Teachers rotate by working one Sunday per month. Our youth department works with the children in Children's Church to make it successful and FUN! Please contact Mrs. Rita Goodbread for information.
Children's Church meets every Sunday during the 10:30 Worship Hour. Children's Church provides a time for the younger children to come together for a Bible story, singing, and fun activities while their parents enjoy the Worship Hour.

Class name: Preschool
Composition of Class: Boys and girls ages 3-5 years
Curriculum: Lifeway

Our favorite classtime activities are: Play-dough, coloring, Bible story time, singing, fishing (for new Bible verses), and snacktime. The Preschool class enjoys contributing to the Shoebox Ministry and collecting pennies for our new Church.

Curriculum: Lifeway for kids. Bible Teaching for Kids

We study the Bible through stories. We learn the Books of the Bible, memorize verses of the Bible, play games and have various activities that correspond to our lessons.

Composition of Class: Highschool grads and up (young adults) 18-30somethings year olds
Curriculum: Various discussions from our Thursday night study (this class also meets on Thursday nights)

Connections is almost always involved with leading youth retreats, events, and studies. We also have our own holiday parties and get togethers usually at a host home. This class is not just for college students, and not just for singles. Couples are very welcome and encouraged to be a part of our group.

Class name: Mixed Adults I
Composition of Class: Very diverse, men and women both singles and couples
Curriculum: Study of the Books of the Bible

We are a very diverse group of young adults who enjoy learning about God together. We study the books of the Bible and have disussion. We support churchwide special projects and cook for the Senoir Adult class quarterly. We also spend time away from Church together and have our own Christmas party, play games together, and go out to eat together.

Class name: Mixed Adults II
Composition of Class: Men and women, couples and singles ages 35+
Curriculum: Lifeway Life Works Quarterly
Teacher/Leader: Ron Magee
The class welcomes all and encourages group participation in discussions. We try to be a place of encouragement, equipping, and engagement into the full life of our church body. Many have stepped out of our class to become teachers and to serve in other capacities in the church. We also want people to feel comfortable in visiting our class and, if so inclined, to try out other classes that may be better suited to their style and compatibility. The key is that each person be involved in a Sunday School small group, as it is so important to Christians in their growing closer to God and in their involvement in the church.

Our class provides bible study and discussion for adult senior women. Every third Sunday, our class has a "young at heart" luncheon.
