In September, 2005 we began a program to help our community get back on its feet. The first phase of that program was to help in the clean up of homes and property. During the last three months of 2005 we helped over 200 homes.

In December, 2005, the Georgia Baptist Convention partnered with us as we moved into phase 2, helping those with damaged homes get to the point where they had a roof over their heads. From January of 2006 to present we have received requests from almost 1400 homes. This work is being completed by volunteers from around the world. (All 50 states and three countries) We estimate that over 10000 volunteers have used our facility as a home base to help those in need.

In October, 2008, the Mississippi  Baptist Convention Board and Gulf Coast Baptist Association will conclude the third phase of our relief program.  Seventeen ground up rebuilds will be completed.

First Baptist Church of Bay St. Louis is thankful for the Georgia Baptist Convention and the Mississippi Baptist Convention for their aid in supplying coordinators, building materials, tools, and cooks for our relief effort.  We also want to thank each of you that gave of your time to come to lift spirits, repair homes, and most importantly SHARE CHRIST.
